Incident summary
Collision with bus operated by EYMC on Holme Road, Market Weighton. Douglas died of his injuries on 26 June 2015.
Legal summary
No charges were brought against Adrian Hornby, the driver of the bus, and he was found not responsible by an inquest.
CCTV reportedly showed that Douglas unclipped his right foot shortly prior to the collision, apparently after seeing a shopping trolley in the road.
Steven Jackson, a collision investigator for Humberside Police, said, “The driver [of the bus] gave him ample room, but Mr Gibson commenced this turn into the path of the bus without looking to the rear.”
